Dom learned to row at Magdalen College School in Oxford where the squad comprised just four rowers and one cox. A small squad it was, but the crew won again and again and Dom enjoyed victories in Senior 4+ and 2+.
He started rowing again around five years ago and joined Star Club in 2016. After shedding two stone and getting his fitness back up to par, In 2018 he won two national, one Henley and one European gold medals.
